Mercenary protests

Interior and Justice Minister Miguel Rodríguez Torres explained yesterday that the “very small groups” of protesters that still remain on the streets are mercenaries paid by the opposition party Voluntad Popular:

“At this moment we are developing in Chacao municipality, Zulia, and an area of Miranda, some intelligence gatherings that have shed interesting lights on the issue. We have been able to confirm that many of those who are in the protests, and that still remain there, very small groups, charge 5,000 bolívares per week and are being led and paid by a militant of Voluntad Popular. (…) Undoubtedly they are mercenaries. A violent and terrorist person, who charges for services of this kind, is a mercenary.”
